Meet Tim

H
i, my name is Tim Preston and I have worked in arts and health promotion in Manchester and the North West for twenty years. From 1991 to 2002 I was employed by Working for Health in Wythenshawe, organising community health projects and helped found South Manchester’s healthy living network.
As a father of three I’m keenly aware of the pressures on parents of young children. We’ve had a couple of near misses with ours over the years. The scariest was a chip pan fire when Daniel (8) and Ellie (4) were trapped upstairs. The Fire Brigade’s ‘Welephant’ had recently visited school and Daniel knew to stop the smoke coming under the bedroom door with blankets, which protected them until they were rescued. The episode convinced me that safety and health promotion with young children can be effective.
I have a current CRB disclosure and public liability insurance and can provide references on request.
